LED Uplighter
The client's (Light Corporation) specification was to design and manufacture (initially) 1000 LED uplighter circuits to fit into their existing light fitting.
The input voltage was 12 volt AC. The lifetime in excess of 50,000 hours. The circuit should also be able to dim with a standard dimming unit.
After much research, a Zetex IC ( XT1360) was chosen, which allowed for low value non-electrolytic capacitors to be incorporated. (Note: Electrolytic capacitors only have 2000 hours life.)
The design was completed in 1 week and 50 prototypes were supplied in 2 weeks. The 1K order was completed in 4 weeks.
Several further 1K orders have since been fufilled.
Note: several early prototypes have been on permanent test at PACE running for 20 months (15,000 hours) with no degradation of light output.
